A few years ago a friend of mine lent me one of Amelie Nothomb’s novels (I forget which one), and I’ve always meant to pick up another one. Today’s DAILY YOMIURI featured an article on the film adaptation of one of her novels, STUPEUR ET TREMBLEMENTS (FEAR AND TREMBLING), by French director Alain Corneau. This is not the book I read (the one I read was about her time in Japan as a child), but one I’ll try picking up next time I have access to French books (maybe during my trip to Canada this August). Read the article for more info about Nothomb.
