PauseTalk Vol. 91 was held on Wednesday, August 28 at Garden Books, and it was a wonderful session. First off, it was the biggest group we’ve had so far in Shanghai – lucky 13 – which really tends to be the ideal size for this sort of thing (a dozen or so). Kicking off with the topic of abandoned spaces (and the desire to explore them), a lot of the following discussion revolved around what it means to live in a city that undergoes constant change, whether good or bad, and what we can or should do in terms of participating, exploring, and enjoying.
Below, the list of participants:
- Dan Li (Game Developer)
- Dan Zhu (Business Consultant & Development)
- Eliza Flow (Brand & Graphic Designer)
- George Hubert (Designer)
- Gianmaria Quarta (Architect)
- Grace Shen (HR Consulting)
- Jan Dornig (Designer)
- Jean Snow (Game Developer)
- Kevin Richardson (Film Photographer)
- Maria Razzhivina (The Dedicated AI Person)
- Roger Groenink (Educator)
- Ruzov Yegor (Science Teacher)
- Yifan Yang (Sustainability)
What’s next? Vol. 92 would normally happen in October, but as I’m going to be away for a good chunk of it (on top of the big national holiday at the start of the month), I think it’s more likely to happen in November. As for the venue, we’ll see, but it could very well return to Bananafish Books. I’ll of course share details here when everything is confirmed, and you can also join our WeChat group chat to stay updated (contact me to be added).
PauseTalk Vol. 92 is actually happening tomorrow (Thursday, October 10) at Bananafish New HQ in the Changning district.
