Transistor

There are so many things I love about this game, and so I’ll just share the two main reasons why I love it so. First are the aesthetics. I love sci-fi/cyberpunk settings, and what they’ve done here feels original, and is just so gorgeous at times (on PS4), especially with the look of the levels. The other thing I really dig is the combat system. It reminds me a bit of the VATS system in Fallout, in that although you can maybe get away with doing it all in real-time, the point is that you should stop time, and then select a set number of moves that you then set off – it then takes a bit of time where you can’t use your skills, until you have recovered your meter. I like it when an action game adds tactics within the combat mechanics, and this game does it in spades. I happily finished it, and will probably play some more in the “game plus” mode – you can restart the game, keeping all your upgrades from your first playthrough.
