Remote Controller

Nintendo, you rock my world! Everything you wanted to know about the just-announced Nintendo Revolution “remote controller” but were afraid to ask, and then some musings on the business strategy behind it. And I’m absolutely in love with the white Revolution pictured in this post!

Update: I just watched Iwata’s keynote (it’s being streamed here), and included is a great little video that shows the controller in action. What impressed me the most was the concept behind the video, in which they present everything from the perspective of the TV. This means you never see any game images, but just from the movements of the players and the sound effects, you immediately understand the type of game they’re currently enjoying. It’s amazing to see how little blips and blops have become such a regular (and easily understandable) part of our vocabulary.
