Update: And now there’s this post on love hotels, which describes exactly what I did (no, I’m not Gortuk) on my first visit to Tokyo, before I moved here. Love hotels were cheaper than regular ones, so that’s where we stayed. Only problem is that like the post says, you can only check in after 10 at night, and then you need to be out of there before 10 in the morning, or you start paying by the hour for the added time. It was my first taste of Shibuya, and I even remember a great ramen shop in the love hotel area, where I first developed my love for the stuff. Ah, memories…
