Internationally renowned British product designer and advocate of “organic design”, Ross Lovegrove came to Japan. In his two- and three-dimensional creations that look at once inorganically solid and sensuously soft the designer brings together sensitivity and technology for a fortunate marriage. His wire-frame objects onto which video images are projected to create an erotic air are reminiscent of Hans Bellmer’s dolls. I bet you’ll feel like caressing them, but of course visitors must not touch the displays! The venue, Gallery le bain was designed by star interior designer Uchida Shigeru, and as an exquisite example of modern architecture the stark white building is worth a closer look too. (REALTOKYO)
