Santouka

Santouka is Yuko’s favorite ramen shop in Ikebukuro (the main shop is actually in Ebisu). Their specialty is shio (salt) ramen, which is what we always take when we go. We went there the other night, it had been a while since our last visit, and I’ve got to say that it was pretty damn good. I usually prefer a bowl of shouyu ramen, but damn if that bowl of Santouka’s shio didn’t hit the spot! The only downside to the visit was that the jazz they usually play was replaced by lame eighties power ballads.
