Just as we’re talking about the late, great Scala-za in a comment thread, I find the following at the DAILY YOMIURI site this morning:
A much-loved cafe in the Kabukicho entertainment district in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, that was known for its classical music, but was closed down at the end of last year, has been resurrected in a nearby underground shopping arcade.
The location and view through the windows of the new La Scala cafe differ from those of its predecessor, but the wooden tables and red box seats are the very same ones that used to be in the old cafe.
