GTA

A friend took pity on me, and having learned that I’d never played GRAND THEFT AUTO III or the sequel, VICE CITY, lent me his PS2 and the two games. See, even though it’s one of the best selling games in North America, it has never been released in Japan. Finally, GTA III is coming out in September, but I have no idea if it’s going to be heavily edited, or what made them decide that Japan was finally ready for it (seems like there will be a warning on the box though, and that stores will not sell the game to minors, which I’ve never seen in Japan).

As for the games, I am absolutely loving them. Right now I’m totally hooked on VICE CITY, which takes place in a Miami-like city during the eighties, with a complete and authentic soundtrack to the decade (you steal cars and then turn the channels on the radio catching songs by Michael Jackson, Helix, Mister Mister, and the like). Now I finally see what all the hype was about.
