Election Day

Just got back from the polling station with Yuko. Today are the elections for Tokyo’s governor. There are 4 choices on the ballot: ultra-conservative ex-actor Shintaro Ishihara (the present governor), a representative of the Japanese communist party, ultra-feminist Keiko Higuchi, and Dr. Nakamatsu, the inventor of the device to transfer gas from one container to another (he even had doctor written in katakana on the ballot: dokutaa). It’ll be a landslide win for Ishihara, who people keep pushing to start his own national party in order to become the next Prime-Minister.
