What is this?
Leave Home is an abstract shooter for the Xbox 360 that features bright graphics, difficulty that adjusts as you play — the more enemies you destroy that more challenging they become — with a score-attack goal.
Why should I care?
The visuals will remind you of Geometry Wars, but the gameplay is — for the most part — side-scrolling with a fun “split-shot” effect that lets your bullets arc towards the rear, and a short set length that encourages quick playthroughs (it’s all about scoring).
Who’s behind it?
One-man indie studio Hermitgames, aka Matt James, also behind previous PC indie shooters Fren-Ze and ‘Troid.
Where can I get it?
Leave Home is part of Microsoft’s “Indie Games” initiative — downloadable independently produced games for the Xbox 360 — and sells for 240 Microsoft Points (around $3). You can download the game’s soundtrack for free.
