FOTO5

I used to take a lot of photos, which contributed greatly to all my years of blogging while living in Tokyo (via this blog, but also via various micro-blogs). Ever since leaving Tokyo, I have found that my photography has boiled down to the things around me and what I’m eating, which admittedly doesn’t feel artistically satisfying. Enter FOTO5.

My idea with FOTO5 is to start a weekly initiative of taking photos — five, in fact — based on a particularly theme. Add to this a community layer — which I’ll support via a WeChat group — that will act as a platform for not only sharing the photos taken, but also for coming up with new themes.

Sound fun? Although based in Shanghai, I don’t think this necessarily needs to only include people based here, but you’ll need access to WeChat — contact me with your ID and I’ll add you to the group.

In the future, I may use this page to start sharing archives of photos taken.
