Update: Big thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to a very enjoyable evening. I’ll have a list of participants and photos up later this week.

  • 101TOKYO Opening

On Wednesday I attended the opening for this year’s second edition of 101TOKYO, held again in Akihabara, but this time at the Akiba Square event space inside the UDX building. It’s not really fair to compare this edition to last year’s — they were quite different beasts — so I’ll just congratulate Jason, Kosuke, Donald,…

  • Second Life and the Future of the Music Industry

Next week catch an exhibition organized by JJ Aucouturier and the cybermedia class at Temple University entitled “Second Life and the Future of the Music Industry,” at the Design Festa Gallery in Harajuku (April 10-12). This coming Monday’s edition of PauseTalk (April 6) at Cafe Pause marks the big 3-0 for the event. Things will kick off at 20:00, as always. It’ll be interesting to see what sort of turnout we get following last month’s blockbuster edition!

  • 12Pixels

I may be obsessed with my iPhone, but there is still some cool stuff happening with “regular”‘ phones, and Ivan Poupyrev and Karl D.D. Willis‘ 12Pixels projects — created at Sony CSL — actually makes me wish I had one. The app lets you draw and share pixel-based images, all done through your phone’s touch…
