Cafe Pause Poster Series

Instead of having an empty signboard at the entrance of the cafe, I decided to start a seasonal poster series. First up, a contribution from Tokyo-based graphic designer Ian Lynam. Below is a better look at the poster. Thanks, Ian!

PauseTalk Vol. 15

Big thanks to everyone who came to the special edition of PauseTalk (Vol. 15) we had this past Monday, to celebration the “Creative GBG in Tokyo” event at the cafe. It was far removed from how things usually go, with a few presentations (special thanks to Jesper, Julia, Martin, and Marxy for participating) and not much conversation, but mixed in with a good amount of socializing and drinking, which I was happy to see and partake in. The next edition — a regular one — will be held December 3.

Creative GBG in Tokyo

With all my running around to catch Tokyo Design Week events and then the 3 nights of Radio OK Fred sessions, I haven’t had much of a chance to talk about our “Creative GBG in Tokyo” event for Swedish Style 2007 at the cafe. As you’ll know if you’ve visited the official site, the idea was to promote a collection of 10 creators from the city of Gothenburg, Sweden, with installations at the cafe, as well as the production of a catalog (you can download a PDF version here). You still have a chance to catch the installations since the event runs until November 8, and here’s a Flickr photoset to give you a peak at what it looks like.

When’s the best time to come? That would be this Monday (November 5), which is when we’ll have our party, which includes a special edition of PauseTalk. How will it differ from regular editions? It will be shorter, kicking off at 20:00, and starting with me and Jesper talking about the event, then followed by a couple of Swedish creators talking about some of their works, and then topped with a repeat performance of W. David Marx’s Powerpoint presentation of “The Idealogy of Micro-Idealogy” that was shown this past Friday at our Radio OK Fred session (not to be missed). Doors will open at 19:00, and you’ll be able to pick up a free copy of the Creative GBG catalog. Come one come all!
