Resfest 10 in Tokyo

Ah, it’s that time of the year, as everyone’s favorite traveling film festival — mine at least — returns to our fair city. Yes, I’m of course talking about Resfest, this year celebrating its 10th anniversary, which invades once again the Laforet Museum in Harajuku starting this Thursday (November 23-26). What should you catch? A DECADE OF RESFEST: TEN SEMINAL SHORT FILMS seems like a no-brainer, and I will certainly not miss the “By Design” program, filled with all the motion graphic-y goodness that I crave. It’s also interesting to note that on top of the regular “RESMIX” collection of Japanese contributions, this year they’re including a “RESMIX Seoul” selection. As far as features, Radiohead gets the big profile this year, but the biggest coup as to be that Thursday night (19:10) will see the premiere of the BLACK & WHITE (TEKKON KINKREET) animated film (the regular roadshow is set for December 23), and from what I hear, it will be showing with English subs.
