Continuing with the video theme, here’s the International Portable Film Festival, which looks like a fairly ambitious project. Already showing is their “Six Cities” program.
The Six Cities project features the work of filmmakers from around the world including Tokyo, New York, Montreal, London, Melbourne and Vancouver. Each filmmaker was asked to create a film that reflected their own unique perspective of their city in a manner that was conscious of the portable medium. As a result, Six Cities comprises of a collection of two minute films that explore concepts of place created by young filmmakers living in these six metropolitan centres.
The Tokyo segment was directed by Shigenobu Kawanishi, and can be downloaded in various portable formats from this page.
