Robb, my editor at Tokyo Q, points out that Google Maps now covers Tokyo! It’s fun trying to zoom in on certain locations, like Meiji Jingu, or Tokyo Tower.

Update: Get a load of Muji’s Yurakucho store’s red roof!

  1. Isn’t the first link the TIF, not meiji jingu?

  4. Sorry about that, I made a mistake when copy and pasting the addresses. It’s fixed now.

But the other one, is it really the TIF? Cause when Robb sent me the links, he said he thought that the red roofed building was the Yurakucho Muji, and I thought it wasn’t because I didn’t notice the TIF nearby. If so, than it’s cool that you can really spot that Muji store from way up. Here’s the link.

  6. Patrick,

I think the strange thing in the sea is a ventilation shaft for the Aqualine.

  8. You wan to know what’s really fun? Start at an easy-to-recognise train station, and try to follow the train lines around to other places. If you are really hardcore, name the stations as you pass through, and don’t use a subway map.

  9. I see there are big cleared out lots in Akihabara where big buildings are now complete

Would be great if the high res imagery went all the way up to the 100+ meter tall Daibatsu statue in Ibaraki. You could tell people it’s Daimajin on the rampage.
