In the comic book Detective Conan, I forgot which volume it was, but as is always the case there are murders. A girl in the countryside was dating an American, and after he had left her place to temporary go back to the country, she killed herself. And out of revenge, the American guy comes back and kills everyone else in the family. The whole reason behind it was that when the American guy left, he left a love note to the girl saying “SHINE”. Which he originally intended to refer to their inside joke of shining beautifully like the sun. But somehow the girl understood it as SHINE as read in Romaji, meaning die.

Man, what a depressing storyline.
