Recording Radio OK Fred

Today we had a recording session for Radio OK Fred, recording the next couple of shows. With the next issue of the magazine (5) scheduled to come out soon (March 10), we sort of did a radio special on it, featuring music from artists featured in the issue. It should be available for download within a week. The next show after that will be online mid-March.

Jean, how do you guys go about recording the show for OK Fred Radio? I was thinking of making a monthly DJ set to be showcased on my website but even though i have a recording setup..i usually have to pipe things into my studio computer. it looks like you just recorded straight into a lap (or an ipod) via a shure mic and a behringer mixer. got any insight?

I honestly couldn’t tell you. We have an engineer that takes cafe of the recording (I know he uses Logic). I just show up, with my iPod, and the tunes I want to play. Everything is done live, so we use 2 iPods and 1 laptop for the music source (Me, Yoshi, and Ay2), and the Gobo, our engineer, records using his Powerbook, everything going through that mixer.
