My new anime column is up at Tokyo Q. Features a few quick reviews of shows I’m presently following, like MONSTER, OTOGIZOUSHI, SAMURAI 7, and SAMURAI CHAMPLOO.

  1. When you wrote that one of the TV awards at the 9th Kobe Animation Awards went to “Ghost in the Shell: Innocence” did you mean “Stand Alone Complex” or did “Innocence” win some sort of TV award?

I’ve been meaning to check out “Otogizoushi” (people over at the Production IG forums have been talking it up), but I haven’t gotten around to it.

  3. INNOCENCE won for best theatrical work, and FULL METAL ALCHEMIST for best TV work. That’s what I meant by ending the sentence with “respectively.”

  4. Doh! Maybe next time I’ll learn to read more clearly before posting. :)
Lesson: Never comment when it’s late at night and you’re tired.

  5. A student named Tristan Bresnen at Emerson University in my hometown (BOSTON, USA) has a radio show of mostly game news and music (and anime too). She’s been written up in local newspapers because of the unexpected popularity of the show (mostly impressive to the non-gaming world because her time slot is 3AM-6AM Saturday morning — thankfully 5PM-8PM Saturday afternoon here). Anyway, it’s a good show and she plays email requests. You can check her out at http://www.wers.org….

  6. It would be nice if there was a podcast version of the show.

  8. More on podcasting here.

Basically a method of subscribing to content. You can have it automatically sync to your iPod whenever it’s connected to your computer. No need to have an iPod though, you can just use it to download stuff automatically, like a regular radio show or something.

  9. What other software/programs/add-ons have you enjoyed recently? (not thinking of keitai-genre at the moment, more of a MAC platform nature)…
