Architect Kawahara Kazuhiko, who goes by the name Palla, creates beautiful parallel images of pictures he takes in Osaka. He’s been mentioned here before, but if you haven’t already, check out his site for tons of beautiful imagery. He’s now created a book, called THE BOOK OF PALLALINK, which he will be printing himself. To make this work, he needs people to place enough orders to go to print. The thing looks beautiful, so have a look, and then go to this entry form to place your order/donation.

what a cool concept… getting pre-orders before printing at all. everything should work that way. such a waste to print 1000 copies and hope that people will buy it, but only your sisters friend buys a copy, and other weird otaku people that read this blog will buy a copy too, leaving 973 copies left. or it might be a hit and sell out so quickly.
or cant he just make a website and have instant global distribution?
You could do it online, but I think the idea is to have something in print, and he might be getting a cut from these (at least I hope so). There’s still something special about having something in print. Like that print zine project I have in mind…
Thanks Jean, Chad.
It is reckless project…
But it is interesting if we can be enjoying my project on WEB.
pallalink was born in weblog. And I am thinking new publishing system may be started from weblog community.
