Jesper’s Next Century Modern front page has a hint of something that I’ll be working on. Should be very cool indeed.

Jean Snow lives and breathes design, pop culture, and gaming in Tokyo -- sustained by an unhealthy addiction to magazines and frequent visits to his favorites cafes. He has reported on these obsessions for the following online/offline publications: Time, Inside (Australian Design Review), Gizmodo, Gridskipper, Kotaku, Tokyo Q, Superfuture, OK Fred, Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel, I.D. (International Design), Metropolis, Azure, MoCo Loco, Kateigaho International Edition, Game|Life, and The Japan Times. He also manages the gallery space at Cafe Pause.
Jean Snow is a daily contributor to Wired magazine's game blog, Game|Life, covering game news from Japan and beyond.

Arcade Mania is currently on sale through Amazon Japan, with the same edition available for pre-order on Amazon US (to be released January, 2009).

Tokyolife: Art and Design covers Tokyo's cultural output of the past few years, covering the works of over 80 influential creatives. Jean Snow provided coordination assistance.

The Superfuture Superguides are a series of PDF travel guides to some of your favorites cities, updated monthly, and obsessively compiling the best places to shop, eat, and drink. The Tokyo guide is edited by Jean Snow.

He is also the design/culture editor at Neojaponisme, a web journal covering social and cultural aspects of Japan. Read the manifesto, by founder and chief editor W. David Marx, here.
PauseTalk is a regular series of events that take place at Cafe Pause on the first Monday of every month, with a start time of 20:00. The idea is to create a forum where Tokyo-based creatives can get together and discuss their own projects, as well as cultural currents of the city. The next edition happens October 6.

Hey, cool. I work with the mother project to TSiG, Tokyo Style in Stockholm. Specifically with the animation part. What will you be working on?
Those of you who happen to be on the planet Earth in August and have even the slightest interest in modern Japan: You do not want to miss this :)
I understand you have not had a lot of time to work on v.4, but do you have tentative ETA?
I’m actually going to be involved with both of them (in Stockholm and Gothenburg). Still not sure about everything I’ll be working on, but things should get clearer over the next few weeks.
As for version 4, it’s not that much of a priority. I might do a few modifications of this version (like a 3.2), as I’ve got a few ideas that I think I can quickly implement, and I need to fix a few things (like adding an archive page to TB.Selecao, and re-doing the Tokyo Boy site to intergrate in this one). Those changes will then make it easier to play with once I do version 4, as the basic informational structure will be in place. What I want to do with version 4 (what I’ve been planning and sketching) is play around with the presentation, and present something that better integrates all the various aspects of the site in a quicker manner. I don’t want to get into it too much right now (as the concept is still evolving), but I think it’ll be cool, and will be a much more interesting user experience (or at least that’s what I hope). But for now, I’ll be doing some stuff with the Tokyo Style crews (probably more with the one in Gothenburg as I’m always talking about stuff with Jesper, the organizer), and I really need to get a bunch of things done for my record label. Other things are also brewing.
But we’ll see. I know myself well enough. I’ve said things in the past, about waiting a few months to do a site update, and then a week later I had a whole new site up…
I’m Jesper :)
Kim, when exactly is the Stockholm meet? I may be going thereways (Helsinki to see my parents) and may make a detour ;)
Alex, Tokyo Style in Stockholm is from the fifth to tenth of August. Be sure to go there if you’re in the area ;)
