Actually, that store is called Bapexclusive. Nowhere is the name of the company that makes all of the Bathing Ape clothing, etc. I love the Bape line but the Foot Soldier shoe store in Daikanyama is like kryptonite to me. I can’t go there without buying like 2 or 3 pairs of shoes.

Hmm, that’s funny. I’ve never heard it referred to as “Nowhere store”. If you check out men’s fashion mags with Bathing Ape spreads, they’ll list the stores the particular clothes are available at. They always refer to that store as “Bapexclusive”.

As for being able to afford it, I can’t! That’s why I try not to go too often. Unless I can expense it. ;) (Hope no one from my company reads this!)

OK, here’s what I know of, in Tokyo.
1) Busy Workshop in Harajuku
2) Bapexclusive in Aoyama, which is the one pictured above, with the Bape Gallery on the 2nd Floor
3) Foot Soldier in Daikanyama
4) Milo Store in Aoyama (Jingumae), with Bape Cuts on the 2nd floor
5) Bape Cafe, also in Aoyama

nowhere was the original name of nigo and jonio (undercover)’s store in ura-harajuku that they opened in april 1993. the store did not start to sell a bathing ape until later that year. nowhere moved to another location in ura-harajuku around 1995. and a couple of years later, undercover moved out. when they started opening ape stores in the prefectures, they called them, “busy work shops” and the flagship home store stayed as “nowhere. in 1999, they moved the flagship store to aoyama and it got all confused. i think the aoyama store was “nowhere” for a while, but when they started to do the bapexclusive (exclusive of exclusive) line in summer 2000, they may have been gearing the store to carry that title. originally, the aoyama store’s upstairs was undercover (making it reminiscent of the original nowhere), and when undercover got a less-suspcious financial backer, they moved out.

Yes, You can tell if the shoe is authentic:
1. If they tell you it runs “1 size too small” it’s fake. The real ones come in the size they say they come in.

2. Sometimes the fake ones are made of cheaper materials

3. The real ones have serial numbers, especially if it’s a limited release like the Ice Cream by Pharrel, RBK, and Nigo. They only released 3,000 of one edition, so for that edition it should say 100 of 3,000 or 1,037 of 3,000, etc.

4. If someone is trying to sell you a shoe that sells for over $500 for less than $50, Be Cautious. It might be Authentic if it’s used, or overstock, a gift, etc., but usually a legitimate business can’t really afford to sell you those sneakers for such a low price.

5. Last but not least, contact the seller, or read their website closely!!!
Most people who sell fakes will tell you. Most people who are selling a factory variant will tell you. They generally believe they are providing you the opportunity to compare to something you may not currently be able to afford, and they want you to know you may be sacrificing quality for affordabilty.

Most businesses who are selling authentic sneakers are very proud of that, and know that it is one of the reasons you will buy their product instead of one that might cost less (and break apart sooner)

So read their website and if it doesn’t specify authenticity, email them.

And Yes, Rapoets.Com only sells authentic kicks.

I hate to rain on your parade but the BAPE STAs on your site aren’t authentic (at least the pics aren’t of authentic BAPE STAs). I can tell even though the pics are thumbnails ‘cuz
1.) the top of the star is too close to the rear part
2.) the star is too fat, especially on the patent leather ones
3.) some of the points are too sharp, they’re supposed to be a bit rounded
4.) they never came out w/ the camo colorway on the front, sides of the laces, & rear; only ones w/ the camo on the star came out

Nike never came out w/ the majority of their colorways, that’s why they’re hot. Not everyone makes sick custom AF1s.

Well “death to textiles”, that is a fair assumption, but Nonetheless a WRONG ASSUMPTION

1. the pictures on the website are usually stock photos, these are enhanced by contrast, brightness, color, certain aspects are magnified so that viewers can see them better. This is called “advertising” and it is common practice with shoes, pants, and most products displayed online and in print. Obviously, no product looks the same in person as in a picture, but I think the bape stas look even better when you’re holding a pair in your hands.

2. for one person to claim they know every colorway that has ever been or ever will be released by A Bathing Ape is just plain goofy. Many of the colorways are rare, seasonal, or limited edition. Anyone who’s been to the Bape retailer more than once in more than one season can tell you they change. For a shoe that arguably switches colorways more frequently and with more variety than even the dunks, or at least the af1’s, it’s amazing that one person would claim to determine that a certain colorway would not or should not be released. The crazy styles and colors that noone else could flip are a major part of what makes the bape stas so ill.

3. My friends and I have gotten a few pairs from rapoets.com and compared them to ones from the store:
- they have the same ones in the same season as the store (not a year later like some places)
- the leather and patent materials are authentic and the cutting is authentic (not like fake ones, which have material breaking off, random sewing in the wrong places, and cutting that is obviously messy and rough)
- the upper and soles match (again, not like the fake ones, which have an upper that is way too big for the sole which results in the upper bunching up around the sole and anyone who has more than one pair will notice if it is fake or real when they see how the sole and upper matches)
- the tags, stars, sewing, logos, etc are all in the right place (again, these are authentic and quality kicks)
- AT THE END of the day, we’re talking about shoes, however nicely designed, they are still just leather, plastic, rubber, and thread put together in a visually pleasing and physically comfortable way - whether human or machine made, if you look closely at any pair of shoes, FROM ANYWHERE, you will always find a minor imperfection somewhere, so if you’re looking for a shoe that always looks exactly the same and is cut like an abstract mathematical concept, you need to walk in to the official bape store and get a reality check (it doesn’t exist). peace to rapoets though! they keep us happy!

IÂ´m sorry to say but rapoets.com, extrakickz.com, http://www.hiphopvalley.com, http://www.oldschoolsneaks.com and all the dealers of fake kicks on the net have excactly the same 50 or so different colourways, still made in PVC from bootleg factories in Hong Kong. While these models are impossible to find from dealers of authentic bapes like pickyourshoes.com, stay246.com, conceptshop.com and vintagekicks.com or the bape shop in soho. Same also goes for the top dealers from Japan at Ebay, like Pondon or Plainflour, neither of these have all these old colour styles, that is because they are limited editions sold out from the footsoldier shops in Japan years ago. However for starters the easyest way to tell is by comparing the price. NO ONE SELL SHOES WORTH $ 200+ IN JAPAN FOR $ 100 IN US.

Okay, the only way to know if you’ve got fakes or real ones is to go to the store in NYC(Name of the shop is busy works: transit authority). It might say its at 91 greene street, but in reality its right on the edge- if the shops closed, good chances you’ll miss it. They sell out of everything fast, and sell most of the shit everybodies wanting to cop; Icecreams, bapesta’s, etc. Most of the tee’s go for 75 u.s, polo’s 105, sta’s 205 (Thats with tax), and the various accessories (When we went, they had a three-fingered ring, watches, and milo dolls there) go from 300-700. The chuck-like shoes are 49, the shell-toe skulls around there.. the store has a huge lop-sided iron cross on its front, and a glass window with the ‘toon sta design on its face.

My girl took a trip from washington DC to New York green st ( bape store) on Apex bus a 4 hour trip to cop me a kaws hoody. Friutless. They had nothing worth coping. No hoods, no tees, nothing in my size. Nothing in her size all tiny sizes small xs ect. No selection, wiped out!!! So I resorted to Ebay. And bought a hoody that retail for $300 in store , but I paid $478.00 from Pondon. Pondon stuff is authentic, but he never emails you back with measurments and so on. His/ her/ Pondon customer service skills are not that great, but he/ she is totally legit along with plainflour on ebay. The fake bape is not worth coping. trust me! I got a fake hood in the mail. I sent it right back with tracking. I paid 299 for it, but my credit card got my money back for me, because the guy was a total fraud in china. These fake hoods stand out like a sore thumb!!!! I cant belive people are on ebay paying 150 for them and leaving sellers positive feedback. The quality of fake bape is awful.
