Tsukumo

The inside of the ramen shop near Ebisu station that I went to a few days ago. I called it Kyujukyu, but the actual reading of the kanji used is Tsukumo. The specialty is a cheese ramen, but even the regular shouyu ramen is quite tasty. It had a slight fish flavor, but not as strong as most shops that add that kind of taste in their soup.

  1. I actually went for my first real Ramen in Gothenbugr yesterday. At a semi-new place called MI. I was surpriced that I was served by authentic japanese people (I’ve always thought it was a crappy wanna be minimalistic/zen/japanese-swedish kinda thing), the big bowls and the fresh taste! I had a vegeterian dish with mushrooms and todu and stuff and it was really good. But do you have other (better) ones to recommend? since I will deffo go again…

  2. I can’t imagine having ramen without any meat. The soup is meat-based. Glad to hear you found a shop though. I just always take the regular ramen, preferably shouyu (soy sauce).

  4. I didn’t try the cheese ramen. I though the cheese came on all of them, and mistakenly just ordered a bowl of shouyu ramen. The person I was there with did get the cheese ramen (he just pointed to the picture on the menu), and after a taste, I’m glad I didn’t. The taste was good, but I don’t think I could have eaten a whole bowl of it. Cheese and ramen are two of my favorite things in the world, but I don’t think they belong together.
