The Apple Store in Ginza opens today, and here is a gallery of pics. I think I’ll go tomorrow morning.
Edit: Glad I didn’t go today, as Mr. Antipixel shows us in his nice little photo essay. I’m even wondering if it’s worth trying to go tomorrow morning. There’s no way I’m waiting a couple of hours in line to get in. But I’m anxious to go not just to check out the new store, but also to have them take a look at my dead iBook, and to be able to talk about it with someone in English.

I’ve been to the Palo Alto and New York stores, and they all seem to have the same fittings and layout. The advice bar, the children’s zone, the lecture theatre. I was going daily to the NY store this summer to use the free wifi, and they welcome that. It looks as if the sheer popularity of the Ginza one may be its biggest drawback, though. There probably won’t be anywhere to just sit down quietly and pick up your e mail.
You’re right, it’s definitely going to be busy as hell for quite a while. There is an Internet cafe inside though, but that involves purchasing something.
Yes, the Ginza store’s interior looks almost identical to the Soho store. I like the Ginza store’s exterior better. Very cool. Wish I could be there (haven’t been to Tokyo for over 5 years now! Probably why I’m enjoying it vicariously through your blog)
